The court issued a release order on October 4 for Lee Jinsook, the former Chairperson of the Korea Communications Commission, who had been detained by the police.
On this day, Kim Donghyun, the presiding judge on duty at the Seoul Southern District Court, accepted Lee's request for a review of the legality of her arrest and ruled in her favor after completing the hearing.
Judge Kim stated that, based on the results of the hearing, "At this stage, the necessity of continued detention is not recognized."
As a result, Lee Jinsook, who had been held in the detention center at Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul, will now proceed with immediate release.
