The Office of the President announced on October 4 that it had formally requested JTBC to postpone the broadcast of the Chuseok special episode of the program "Please Take Care of My Refrigerator," featuring President Lee Jaemyung and the First Lady. The office also explained that the recording of the program took place on the afternoon of the 28th, after the fire at the National Information Resources Service (NIRS) had been completely extinguished.

President Lee and the First Lady were scheduled to appear on the Chuseok special episode of JTBC's "Please Take Care of My Refrigerator" on October 5 to promote K-Food dishes prepared with seasonal ingredients. However, Kim Namjoon, spokesperson for the Office of the President, stated in a written briefing that, considering all government ministries were observing a period of mourning following the death of a public official, the office requested JTBC to delay the broadcast. As a result, JTBC rescheduled the program to air at 10 p.m. on October 6, one day later than originally planned.

Spokesperson Kim also provided details on President Lee's activities during the NIRS fire. He stated, "President Lee, immediately after returning from the United States on the night of the 26th of last month, received frequent updates on the fire situation, closely monitored the damage and the government's response, and ordered necessary actions." He added, "Accordingly, a Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH) meeting was held on the 27th under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, and the fire was completely extinguished at 6 p.m. that day."

Kim further explained, "At 10:50 a.m. on the 28th, President Lee convened an emergency response meeting, receiving reports and discussing countermeasures with the chiefs of the three offices of the presidential secretariat, the head of the Crisis Management Center, the head of the National Situation Room, and the spokesperson." He added, "During the emergency meeting, President Lee instructed that another CDSCH meeting be held that afternoon and that each ministry conduct inspections." According to Kim, President Lee recorded "Please Take Care of My Refrigerator" in the afternoon of the 28th and then presided over the CDSCH meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, the People Power Party continues to criticize the broadcast of the Chuseok special episode of "Please Take Care of My Refrigerator" featuring President Lee and the First Lady. The party claims that the recording took place during the recovery phase of the NIRS fire incident. On this day, Jang Donghyuk, leader of the People Power Party, visited Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, to review preparations for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit and told reporters, "If these suspicions are baseless, it would be enough to simply disclose the date and time of the recording and filming." Previously, Assemblyman Joo Jinwoo stated, "While citizens were suffering from the NIRS fire, the President remained silent for two days, neither chairing meetings nor visiting the site. Those are the missing 48 hours," and called for the disclosure of the entertainment program's recording date.
