"Defamation Through False Briefing"
Demand for Release of Presidential Office Meeting Minutes and Filming Timeline
Assemblyman Joo Jinwoo of the People Power Party has released additional evidence showing that President Lee Jaemyung and his spouse proceeded with the filming of a variety show despite the administrative computer network being paralyzed due to a fire at the National Information Resources Service. He also stated that spokesperson Kang Yujeong spread false information during a briefing and announced plans to file a criminal complaint.
On October 4, Assemblyman Joo wrote on his Facebook, "When I asked about the timing of President Lee Jaemyung's appearance on 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator,' the presidential office immediately threatened legal action. In the end, they continue to conceal the timing of the appearance," he began.
He also pointed out that spokesperson Kim Namjoon admitted that the filming took place after the fire, which was reported by the media. Assemblyman Joo said, "Yesterday's briefing was a confession that it was a deception. The government became paralyzed, and the public official whom President Lee instructed to work overnight on recovery tragically lost their life," adding, "Can the President and his spouse really appear on a variety show and laugh in the midst of a crisis, when the fire at the National Information Resources Service had escalated to the highest level of 'serious'?"
He further announced three actions to uncover the truth. Assemblyman Joo stated, "First, I will file a criminal complaint against spokesperson Kang Yujeong. She defamed me through a false briefing," adding, "Legal threats do not work on me. I will reveal the timing of the filming through an investigation."

He continued, "Second, I will release additional evidence. Multiple sources have informed me that the filming of 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' took place after the National Information Resources Service fire, specifically on September 28, and that a gag order was issued to the media outlet involved," adding, "I will disclose the metadata of a photo showing a large police presence at the media outlet. The photo was taken at 1:44 p.m. on September 28. Police buses are typically deployed for presidential security or rallies."
Finally, he strongly demanded that the presidential office release the meeting minutes and the exact timing of the filming. Assemblyman Joo said, "They insist that they were holding internal meetings at the presidential office and did not appear before the public for two days," adding, "According to the Presidential Records Act, meeting minutes must be kept. Make them public and be judged by the people."
