On October 3, Kim's legal representative, attorney Yoo Jeonghwa, posted on her Facebook page, saying, "I am sharing a message from Mrs. Kim during our meeting," and released Kim's message.
According to attorney Yoo, Kim said, "Thank you for always supporting me. Without your letters and encouragement, I don't think I could have endured this long, dark tunnel," adding, "I wish you a happy Chuseok. I will always pray for all of you as well."
Kim has been indicted and detained on charges including violations of the Capital Markets Act and the Political Funds Act. She is currently standing trial while being held at the Seoul Southern Detention Center.
