Special Leisure Opportunities During the Chuseok Holiday
Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province is introducing special attractions where visitors can enjoy both traditional market shopping and leisure activities during the Chuseok holiday. The city is also launching the '2025 K-Onnuri Pass (Onnuri Gift Certificate Refund Event)' to help revitalize the local economy.
This event will run for 44 days from September 25 to November 9 at Gumi Saemaeul Central Market and at stores in the Munhwaro and Jungangro Dongmun shopping districts.
Shoppers who spend a certain amount at participating stores will receive 20% of their purchase back in Onnuri gift certificates. The maximum refund is 20,000 won per day, with a total of up to 140,000 won available during the event period, offering significant benefits to consumers.
As of the 11th, spending has already exceeded 640 million won, and more than 100 million won worth of Onnuri gift certificates have been issued, demonstrating a strong response from the outset.
Gumi Saemaeul Central Market is conveniently located near Gumi Station on the Daegyeong Line, making it an especially attractive destination for holiday travelers.

Meanwhile, Gumi City's park golf courses, with nine locations and 288 holes, rank second largest in the country. With a recent surge in visitors, these courses have become a new hotspot for leisure and tourism, and will remain open and free of charge throughout the Chuseok holiday.
If visitors spend 50,000 won or more on accommodation, food, or tourism products in Gumi, a team of up to four people can use the Seonsan, Dogae, Haepyeong, or Okseong park golf courses without a reservation.
This means visitors can enjoy a seamless experience: convenient travel to Gumi via the Daegyeong Line, shopping at traditional markets, receiving Onnuri gift certificate refunds, and using their receipts for free park golf access-all in one stop.
Currently, Gumi boasts 16 unique and vibrant traditional markets.
In particular, Sinpyeong Market, famous for its gukbap and side dish shops, is drawing even more visitors thanks to its adjacent parking lot, creating a lively atmosphere. As sales at traditional markets visibly recover, the opening of the Daegyeong Line is further injecting new energy into the local economy.
Kim Jangho, Mayor of Gumi, said, "I hope that this Chuseok holiday, you will enjoy the warmth of our traditional markets and the healthy vitality of park golf in Gumi. By supporting traditional markets, we can give small business owners a much-needed boost and invigorate the local economy."
