The Office of the President on October 3 criticized Joo Jinwoo, a member of the People Power Party, for his Facebook post, stating, "By raising unfounded suspicions, he has politicized a national crisis and spread false information. We are considering taking legal action against these actions."

Kang Yoojeong, spokesperson for the Office of the President, said in a written briefing on the same day, "Assemblyman Joo Jinwoo's post is a clear act of spreading false information," and made this statement.

On this day, Assemblyman Joo Jinwoo claimed on his social networking service (SNS) account, "While the public suffered damages due to the fire at the national data center, the President remained silent for two whole days, neither presiding over meetings nor visiting the site. It was a lost 48 hours."

Spokesperson Kang countered, "At around 8:20 p.m. on September 26, when the fire broke out, President Lee Jaemyung was on a plane returning from attending the United Nations General Assembly," and added, "Immediately upon his return, at around 9:39 a.m. on September 27, the day after the fire, Chief Communications Officer Lee Gyuyoun posted a notice in the press group chat stating that President Lee had been briefed and had monitored the situation throughout the night."

Kang further explained that President Lee presided over an emergency response meeting and a face-to-face video conference with provincial governors on the 28th.
