Gijang County Launches Comprehensive Chuseok Holiday Measures to Ensure Resident Safety and Minimize Inconvenience

Comprehensive Measures Implemented Across Six Key Areas:
Disaster, Transportation, Medical Care, Environment, and More

Gijang County (Governor Jung Jongbok) announced on the 2nd that it has established and will implement comprehensive measures to minimize inconveniences for residents during the Chuseok holiday, which runs from the 3rd to the 9th.

This plan focuses on six key areas closely related to residents' daily lives: disaster and safety management, stabilization of the local economy, transportation and transit, emergency and urgent medical care, environmental maintenance and handling of civil complaints, and support and sharing for marginalized groups.

To prevent various disasters and strengthen safety management during the holiday period, the county has organized five response teams-general control, disaster situation, environmental cleaning, transportation measures, and quarantine measures-comprising a total of 120 personnel who will be on duty both in the situation room and in the field.

To stabilize prices, the county will closely monitor the supply and price trends of essential goods, intensifying monitoring, guidance, and enforcement for 20 key items. It will also operate a transportation control room to ease transportation inconveniences for residents by deploying additional city buses for cemetery visits, adjusting temporary village bus routes, and securing temporary parking lots.

To minimize gaps in emergency and medical services, an emergency medical situation room staffed by doctors and nurses will operate at the public health center, and the county will provide and inspect information on medical institutions and pharmacies operating during the holiday. The operation status of emergency medical institutions will also be checked daily to minimize inconvenience for residents.

To create a pleasant environment, a large-scale cleaning will be conducted before and after the holiday, along with special enforcement against illegal dumping of waste. Support initiatives for vulnerable groups, such as low-income households and seniors living alone, will also be carried out to foster a warm holiday atmosphere.

Jung Jongbok, Governor of Gijang County, said, "I hope everyone enjoys a bountiful and warm holiday with their precious family and friends," adding, "We will do our utmost to thoroughly implement measures in each area so that all residents and visitors can enjoy a comfortable and pleasant holiday."
