LG Energy Solution announced on October 2 that it plans to gradually resume business trips to the United States, focusing on essential personnel, starting after the Chuseok holiday.

LG Energy Solution to Resume US Business Trips One Month After Detention Incident Yonhap News Agency

On September 4, LG Energy Solution completely suspended all business trips to the United States after 47 of its employees and approximately 250 partner company staff were detained by immigration authorities at its battery joint venture construction site with Hyundai Motor Group in Georgia.

However, the company explained that it made this decision after a Korea-U.S. working group meeting confirmed that holders of short-term business (B-1) visas and Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) are permitted to carry out equipment installation, inspection, and maintenance activities at U.S. plants.

LG Energy Solution stated that it will prioritize the safety of its own and partner company members, and will implement systematic management and support measures to ensure that all business travelers can work with peace of mind.

To this end, the company plans to implement the following measures: organizing business travelers mainly with B-1 visa holders; strengthening entry support procedures such as local legal services; preparing and requiring travelers to carry documentation justifying their work at all times; and establishing a professional response system by designating on-site response managers for each corporation and providing external legal support.

LG Energy Solution stated, "We will do our utmost to normalize plant construction and operations in the United States, ensuring a safe business travel environment and maintaining trust with our customers."
