Mayor Kim Donggeun: "Creating Jobs and Fostering Communication... Advancing Policies for a City Where Seniors Thrive"

Uijeongbu City Holds 29th Senior Citizens' Day Ceremony

Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Donggeun) successfully held the '29th Senior Citizens' Day Ceremony' on October 1 at the Grand Theater of the Uijeongbu Cultural Foundation (Uijeongbu Arts Center), with over 900 local seniors in attendance.

Hosted by the Uijeongbu branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association, the event was organized to express gratitude for the contributions of seniors and to promote a culture of respect for the elderly and filial piety. The program included a celebratory performance and a commemorative ceremony, during which a total of 47 individuals-including exemplary seniors and contributors to senior welfare-were recognized with awards.


The Gyeonggi Province Governor's Award was presented to Moon Bongdae, president of the Dream Valley Apartment Senior Center, in the exemplary senior category, and to Ji Hyangsook of the Nokyang General Social Welfare Center, in the senior welfare contributor category.


Additionally, the Uijeongbu Mayor's Award was given to Kwon Gilju, Kim Gwangbun, Moon Younghee, Park Pilnam, Oh Ipboon, Lee Youngcheol, Jang Geumsik, Jang Youngok, Jung Younggil, and Hwang Choonja as exemplary seniors, and to Kim Daeseong, Cho Jaeyoung, Lee Giyeop, Park Jeonghae, Jang Seokhyeon, and Hyun Siyeon as contributors to senior welfare.
