Greater Satisfaction with Discounted Boarding Fees and Prize Giveaways
Gwangyang City, South Jeolla Province (Mayor Jung Inhwa), announced on October 2 that it will hold a special "Gwangyang City Tour" event in October, the perfect month for travel, allowing visitors to explore every corner of Gwangyang with insightful commentary from cultural tourism interpreters.
To meet the increasing tourism demand driven by the 5th Gwangyang K-POP Festival, the Gwangyang Traditional Charcoal Barbecue Festival, and Namdo Film Festival Season 2 in Gwangyang, the city has prepared a 50% discount on boarding fees and a social media review prize event. This special event will run throughout October and is open to everyone.
The Gwangyang City Tour will operate from October 6, except on Chuseok, and requires a reservation of at least 10 people. However, the Eco Art Tour (September 30), Night Tour (October 3, 17, and 31) will operate even if the minimum number is not met. Reservations can be made via the integrated reservation system or by phone up to three days before the tour, and on-site registration is possible if seats remain.
For local courses, the fare is 5,000 won for adults, 4,000 won for military personnel, seniors, and students, and 3,000 won for people with disabilities and preschool children. During the event period, a 50% discount applies (admission fees, meals, and travel insurance are not included). For regional courses, fares vary depending on the itinerary.
To participate in the review event, guests can post a review on their own social media including photos and hashtags, or take part in an offline survey. Among those who participate via social media and surveys, 25 people will be selected by lottery to receive gift icons worth 30,000 won and 10,000 won, respectively.
The Gwangyang City Tour operates in two main ways: local courses departing from Suncheon Station and the regional course "Gwangyang Travel Day," which departs from Gwangju U-Square.
Local courses include the Eco Art Healing Tour (Monday to Thursday), Night Tour (Friday to Saturday), and group tours. The regional tour operates one to three times a month with unique itineraries.
The Eco Art Healing Course departs from Suncheon Station (9:00 a.m.) and Gwangyang Bus Terminal (9:30 a.m.), visits Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest, Okgyeongsa Camellia Forest, and enjoys lunch at the Gwangyang Bulgogi Specialty Street.
Afterward, participants tour the Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art, Gwangyang Art Warehouse, Gwangyang History and Culture Museum, and the Seoul National University Southern Experimental Forest Residence, before returning via Gwangyang Bus Terminal (4:30 p.m.) and arriving at Suncheon Station (5:00 p.m.).

For group tours of 15 or more, guests can arrange a private tour with their preferred itinerary, provided they visit at least four tourist attractions and include at least one meal in Gwangyang. Reservations must be completed at least seven days before the tour.
In October, the regional course will operate four times, including the "PARK 1538" linked course (October 13 and 22) and the Gwangyang Traditional Charcoal Barbecue Festival linked course (October 25 and 26).
