Drawing a Line on Reports of Dispatched Prosecutors Wanting to "Return"
Justice Minister Sung Ho Jung: "Everyone Is Fulfilling Their Duties"
"No Cause for Public Concern... Thorough Preparations Will Be Made"
Regarding reports that prosecutors dispatched to the special investigation team probing allegations related to Kim Keonhee have expressed their intention to "return to their original prosecutor's offices" in protest against the abolition of the prosecution offices, Justice Minister Sung Ho Jung drew a clear line, stating, "It is not true that there is significant unrest within the prosecution."
On the afternoon of October 1, during his final policy site visit at the Busan High Prosecutors' Office and Busan District Prosecutors' Office, Minister Jung told reporters, "All prosecutors are faithfully carrying out their assigned duties within the special prosecutor's office," adding, "There is no need for the public to be concerned."

He further explained, "Once the special investigation is concluded, the minimum number of personnel necessary to maintain the prosecution will remain after consultation," and clarified, "The remarks made by the dispatched prosecutors should be understood as general statements."
He continued, "It is true that, following the passage of the Government Organization Act in the National Assembly, prosecutors have some concerns regarding their original organization," but added, "Since there is about a year left, we will ensure that prosecutors and investigators are not left feeling uneasy and will make thorough preparations."
On this day, Busan High Prosecutors' Office Chief Lee Jonghyuk, Busan District Prosecutors' Office Chief Kim Changjin, and key deputy chief prosecutors were present to welcome the minister.
