Machang Bridge Ranks No. 1 in Global Road Management ... Perfect Score and Five Stars in GRESB 2025

Machang Bridge Corporation has achieved a perfect score of 100 points in the domestic road sector for the first time in the 'Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) 2025,' earning the highest rating of 5 stars.


GRESB is an organization that evaluates sustainable management, comprehensively assessing physical assets such as roads and their management and operating companies in terms of environmental impact, social contribution, and stakeholder relations.


Machang Bridge received perfect scores in all categories, reaching the highest of the five-star rating system, and ranked first among 647 global evaluation companies.

Machang Bridge is majority-owned by Macquarie Korea Infrastructure Fund (MKIF) and has managed and operated the 1.7-kilometer-long sea bridge, Machang Bridge, connecting Gapo-dong in Masanhappo-gu and Gwisandong in Seongsan-gu, Changwon, Gyeongnam, since July 1, 2008.


The company focuses on ensuring the safety of the bridge, which is used by an average of 48,000 vehicles per day, providing facilities for user convenience, preventing industrial accidents, and engaging in marine environmental protection activities.


In addition, Machang Bridge Corporation has joined the "Fruit of Love Honor Society" and made regular donations of over 100 million won for three years. The company also provides scholarships to 50 local elementary, middle, and high school students, supports medical expenses for low-income families, and regularly sponsors social welfare facilities and the Gyeongnam Migrant Workers Center as part of its social contribution activities.


In recognition of these efforts, Machang Bridge has received several awards, including the Minister of Strategy and Finance Award for the national sustainable management sector in 2002, the Gyeongnam Governor's Citation for contributions to community love, and the Minister of Health and Welfare Award at the 2025 Korea Best Management Awards.


Chief Executive Officer Kim Sunghwan said, "We are delighted to receive the highest rating from GRESB, which evaluates not only eco-friendly road management but also social contribution policies and transparent governance across various fields," adding, "We will continue to create a pleasant and safe road environment and further develop our sustainable management strategies."
