The ‘8-Second Video’ Behind the Spectacular Festival Goes Viral on YouTube: “The Real Finale Was at the End”

Another Touching Story from the Seoripul Music Festival with 250,000 Attendees
Seocho District Cleaning Squad and Sanitation Workers Surpass 700,000 Views

A YouTube Shorts video capturing the behind-the-scenes of the ‘Seoripul Music Festival’ hosted by Seocho District in Seoul has gone viral, surpassing 700,000 views just three days after its release (as of 7:00 a.m. on October 2).

The ‘Back to Daily Life - Seoripul Cleaning Avengers’ Shorts video is an 8-second clip showing 14 cleaning vehicles and over 70 environmental workers tidying up Banpo-daero immediately after the stage was dismantled following the festival.

Comments such as “Even cleaning looks like a parade” and “The finale of the festival is truly a spectacle” poured in, with nicknames like ‘Cleaning Avengers’ and ‘Sweep Boys’ being given to the workers, and netizens expressing their support and gratitude. Riding this explosive response, Seocho District will release a documentary titled ‘Behind Stage: Them,’ which tells the stories of the unsung heroes behind the stage and local residents, through its official YouTube channel on October 2.

The 10th anniversary of the Seoripul Music Festival, held on September 27 and 28, attracted a total of 250,000 visitors. This year’s festival transformed Banpo-daero into a massive stage, featuring performances by world-renowned soprano Sumi Jo, violinist Danny Koo, as well as Epik High, Stella Jang, and MeloMance, turning the heart of Seoul into a city of music.

Not only the artists on stage but also the stories of the audience amplified the festival’s emotional impact. Highlights included a mother and daughter who queued from the morning to see Sumi Jo perform, a grandmother in her seventies who picked up the violin again to join the orchestra, and a devoted Epik High fan who had been preparing fan letters for 20 years.

The efforts of those who worked behind the scenes to ensure safety also stood out. The police and the Marine Corps Veterans Association managed the crowds, 520 members of the Model Drivers Association supported the event, firefighters remained vigilant throughout the fireworks, and 100 ‘Seoripul Runners’ volunteers safeguarded the venue. In addition, the ‘World’s Largest Sketchbook’ project, which turned Banpo-daero into a giant canvas, left special memories for children and students.

Before the festival, Seocho District installed recycling and food waste collection bins throughout the venue, and once the festival ended, cleaning crews and environmental workers restored the roads to their usual state at dawn.

Seocho District Mayor Jeon Sungsoo said, “This year’s Seoripul Music Festival shone even brighter thanks to the unsung heroes who worked hard behind the scenes and the passionate participation of those who joined as devoted fans. We will continue to communicate heartwarming and inspiring stories from our community through various social media channels.”
