Gwangmyeong City Recruits "Pet Plogging Volunteer Group" to Pick Up Litter with Dogs

"Climate Dogs" is a name inspired by the city's citizen climate action group "Climate Militia," and it symbolizes righteous companion dogs that help protect the climate.

For approximately one year, until September next year, the volunteer group will pick up litter in parks and plazas with their dogs and promote the adoption of stray dogs and responsible pet ownership among citizens.

Any resident of Gwangmyeong City who has registered their dog can apply. Those wishing to participate can sign up on a first-come, first-served basis via Naver Form by the 31st.

Volunteers will receive uniforms, Climate Militia carbon piggy bank points, and volunteer hours recorded on the 1365 Volunteer Portal. Those with outstanding participation records will also receive commemorative gifts.

Mayor Park Seungwon stated, "The Pet Plogging Volunteer Group is a meaningful initiative that protects the local environment with companion dogs and contributes to solving the issue of abandoned animals. With active citizen participation, we will create a pet-friendly city."
