Sahmyook University announced on October 10 that Professor Emeritus Jang Yongseon from the Department of English Language and Literature donated 10 million won to support university development and international students after retiring and relocating to the United States.

Professor Jang stated, "I wanted to express my gratitude with the heart of someone indebted to the school," adding, "The love and consideration I received at Sahmyook University have been a great support throughout my life. Although it is a small gesture, I hope it will be helpful to international students." After making the donation, Professor Jang moved to the United States to start a new life with his family.
Professor Jang retired at the end of February 2023 after 31 years of service at Sahmyook University, where he held various positions including Director of Academic Affairs at Sahmyook University Medical School, Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Director of the Institute of International Education. In particular, during his tenure as Director of the Institute of International Education, he contributed to creating a global campus by expanding opportunities for students to study abroad and actively attracting international students. In recognition of these achievements, he was awarded the Order of Service Merit by the government upon his retirement.
Meanwhile, Sahmyook University is running the "Inspiring Donation Relay Campaign" in celebration of its 120th anniversary, which will take place on October 10, 2026. The campaign consists of six tiers: Hope Sharing (12,000 won from 1,200 donors), Joy Sharing (120,000 won from 1,200 donors), Happiness Sharing (1.2 million won from 120 donors), Love Sharing (12 million won from 120 donors), Vision Sharing (120 million won from 120 donors), and Glory Sharing (1.2 billion won from 12 donors). A total of 2,772 donors will participate in this meaningful journey for the university's development, with 12, 120, or 1,200 donors in each tier.
