Preparing for Emergency Patients
25 Medical Staff Working in Three Shifts
Muju County in North Jeolla Province will operate the emergency room at Muju County Public Health Medical Center 24 hours a day during the Chuseok holiday period to prepare for any emergency patients.
According to the county on October 1, a total of 25 medical staff, including doctors, nurses, and radiologists, will work in three shifts for this emergency room operation. In addition, a separate patient triage station will be set up outside the emergency room to enhance efficiency and speed.
For suspected infectious disease cases, the county plans to focus on preventing in-hospital infections by providing isolated treatment. Muju County is also strengthening its emergency contact system with higher-level medical institutions and regional trauma centers to ensure prompt transfer of emergency patients. At the same time, the county is working to enhance cooperation with related agencies such as Muju Fire Station and Muju Police Station for a swift response in the event of multiple patients.
Choi Jeongtae, head of the Medical Support Department at Muju County Public Health Medical Center, said, "To ensure smooth operation of the emergency room during the Chuseok holiday, we have assigned one additional nurse and have an ambulance on standby at all times for urgent transfers. We will do our utmost to ensure that residents, returning visitors, and travelers all have a safe holiday."
Meanwhile, in addition to Muju County Public Health Medical Center, several clinics will be open during the holiday period, including Kangan Clinic in Muju-eup (October 3, 8, and 9), Goryeo Clinic (October 10), Nogeumseok Surgery Clinic (October 3-4 and 8-11), Muju Neurology Clinic (October 4 and 11), Muju Ophthalmology Clinic (October 10-11), and Seongmo Surgery Clinic in Seolcheon-myeon (October 4 and 10-11). The schedules for these clinics are being shared through the Muju County official website, social media, and the county newsletter (Firefly Newsletter).
