Ansan City in Gyeonggi Province will provide 'Gangnam Ingang,' an online college entrance exam lecture platform from Gangnam District in Seoul, to local middle and high school students at an affordable cost.

On October 1, Ansan City announced that it had held a meeting with principals of middle and high schools participating in the pilot operation of the online educational support project at Ansan City Hall on September 30.

The meeting was organized to discuss operational plans and cooperation matters for the 'Gangnam Ingang Linked Online Educational Support Project,' which will be piloted starting this month.

'Gangnam Ingang' is an online education platform operated by Gangnam District in Seoul. It offers more than 1,500 level-specific lectures, ranging from middle school academic support to high school college entrance exam preparation. Previously, Ansan City signed a 'Gangnam Ingang Joint Usage Financial Business Agreement' with Gangnam District on September 12, allowing local middle and high school students to access the platform.

Under the agreement, local middle and high school students will be able to use the platform unlimitedly for a year at a low price. The city will subsidize 35,000 won out of the 45,000 won tuition fee, so students will only need to pay 10,000 won.

Starting this month, the city will pilot the project at seven schools and plans to expand it to all middle and high schools in the area from next year.

Min Geun Lee, Mayor of Ansan, stated, "Through the online educational support project, we will reduce the burden of private education expenses for families and provide students with equal educational opportunities," adding, "To ensure smooth project implementation, we will work to secure active participation and cooperation from the Ansan Office of Education and schools."
