LS Electric Targets Data Center Trends... Unveils UL-Certified Distribution Panels in the US

Participating in DCWA 2025 on June 8-9
Showcasing Technologies Including Modular Power Solutions
Accelerating Global Data Center Expansion

LS Electric is unveiling strategic products tailored to the latest trends in data center power infrastructure as it embarks on expanding its global data center business, including in North America and ASEAN.

LS Electric will participate in "Data Centre World Asia (DCWA) 2025," Asia's largest data center exhibition, held at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore on the 8th and 9th. Under the theme "Realizing the Future of Data Centers," the company will showcase a full package of data center power solutions in an 8-booth (72㎡) exhibition space, including UL-certified distribution panels for data centers, modular power solutions, and direct current (DC) distribution systems. LS Electric will introduce its technological capabilities and supply capacity to local customers.

Stable power supply is fundamental and essential for data center operations. LS Electric's distribution panels for data centers are designed with safety in mind and undergo rigorous performance verification. In particular, LS Electric is introducing strategic distribution panel products optimized for data centers. These products have obtained UL certification, which is a requirement for entering the U.S. market, and their reliability has been enhanced through PI testing (product performance verification test) by the Power Testing & Technology Institute (PT&T) before shipment.

LS Electric offers high-voltage distribution panels with seismic (robust structure to withstand seismic waves) and arc-resistant (safety structure to protect operators in the event of an arc accident) features that meet global standards, as well as low-voltage distribution panels with internal partition structures (Form 4b Type 7) to prevent the spread of accidents.

The modular power solution is a modular data center platform that replaces traditional concrete building electrical rooms, housing all the equipment needed for power reception, distribution, and control inside a container structure. Manufactured and verified in advance under optimal conditions and facilities, it ensures reliability and flexible response to customer needs, while also enabling quick delivery times.

In line with the trend of data center power infrastructure transitioning to high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems, LS Electric is also unveiling next-generation smart direct current distribution solutions. Nvidia is leading the transition to HVDC-based data center power infrastructure to operate IT racks (structures for managing IT equipment) with capacities of 1MW or more starting in 2027. LS Electric provides solutions optimized for DC distribution, such as semiconductor transformers (SST), semiconductor circuit breakers (SSCB), and DC-DC converters utilizing semiconductor device technology, which reduce power conversion stages and support the use of distributed power sources.

With the ASEAN region rapidly emerging as a global hub for data centers, LS Electric plans to actively expand its business in the data center markets of major ASEAN countries. Global big tech companies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, and Microsoft (MS) have announced investment plans for building data centers in Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. AWS plans to invest over 33 billion dollars (about 45 trillion won) in ASEAN data centers, while Google will invest over 8 billion dollars (about 11 trillion won), and Microsoft will invest at least 6.8 billion dollars (about 9.29 trillion won).

LS Electric's order intake related to North American data centers this year is approaching 400 billion won. The company explained that it has signed supply contracts for power distribution solutions for multiple big tech and hyperscale data centers and is steadily building its track record. As artificial intelligence (AI) usage expands globally, data center power consumption is expected to increase significantly. The global annual average growth rate of data center power demand from 2023 to 2028 is projected to be 11%, and with the application of AI servers, it is expected to increase by 26% to 36% annually.

An LS Electric official stated, "Based on our solid track record, we are discussing new business collaborations with major companies regarding the supply of power solutions for big tech data centers. We will actively target not only the United States but also the rapidly growing ASEAN data center market to lead the hyperscale data center power solution sector."
