Competing in the Fall Series Sanderson Farms Championship
Needs to Earn Points to Improve 99th Place FedEx Cup Ranking
Aiming to Break into Top 60 for Signature Event Qualification
Kim Juhyung will participate in his second Fall Series event on the PGA Tour.
Starting from October 2 (local time), he will compete in the Sanderson Farms Championship, which will be held over four days at The Country Club of Jackson (par 72, 7,461 yards) in Jackson, Mississippi, United States. The total prize money for the event is 6 million dollars.
Kim Juhyung has dropped to 99th place in the FedEx Cup rankings with 428 points. Currently, Andrew Putnam of the United States is in 101st place with 423 points, just 5 points behind Kim Juhyung. Kim Juhyung posted a disappointing result at the first Fall Series event, the Procore Championship, finishing only in 72nd place. He needs to find a turning point through this tournament.
The Fall Series is a battleground for players seeking to secure their PGA Tour cards for the next season. Only those ranked within the top 100 in the FedEx Cup standings after the Fall Series will be eligible to play on the PGA Tour next year.
The PGA Tour granted next season's playing privileges and entry into major Signature Events to players who finished within the top 50 in the FedEx Cup standings as of the Tour Championship held in August.
Meanwhile, players ranked from 51st to 70th are aiming for spots in early-season Signature Events next year, including the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Genesis Invitational. Entry to these two events will be awarded to those ranked up to 60th at the conclusion of the Fall Series.
This year's Fall Series consists of a total of seven tournaments, starting with the Procore Championship earlier this month and concluding with the RSM Classic in November.
