Gijang County, Busan to Hold Onnuri Gift Certificate Refund Event for Seafood at Gijang Market for Chuseok

Up to 20,000 Won Refund Per Person for Purchases of Domestically Produced Seafood

Gijang County in Busan (Governor Jung Jongbok) will hold a five-day Onnuri gift certificate refund event for domestically produced seafood at Gijang Market from October 1 to October 5 in celebration of Chuseok.

This event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 75 stores within the Gijang Market autonomous commercial district that sell domestically produced seafood. Since the designation of the Gijang Market area as an autonomous commercial district in August last year, both wholesale and retail seafood stores have participated, expanding the scope of the refund event. Participating stores can be easily identified by notices posted in front of their shops.

During the event, customers who purchase domestically produced seafood at participating stores will receive a refund in Onnuri gift certificates: 10,000 won for purchases between 34,000 won and less than 67,000 won, and 20,000 won for purchases of 67,000 won or more.

To receive the refund, the merchant must register the purchase details in the simple refund system, after which the customer can visit the refund booth set up at the Gijang Market public parking lot, present their receipt and mobile phone number, and receive the refund after identity verification. Please note that the event may end early if the gift certificates run out.

Governor Jung Jongbok stated, "This refund event aims to ease the burden on consumers caused by rising seafood prices during Chuseok and to revitalize traditional markets," adding, "I hope both merchants and residents enjoy a bountiful holiday."
