Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on September 30 that it will implement a "Chuseok Holiday Comprehensive Measures" plan for seven days, from October 3 to 9, to minimize inconveniences for citizens during the Chuseok holiday.

On this day, a meeting was held in the city hall situation room, presided over by Mayor Jung Myunggeun, where the city decided to operate a 24-hour emergency work system by running a comprehensive situation team throughout the holiday period.

"No Inconvenience for Citizens"... Hwaseong City to Operate 24-Hour Emergency System During Chuseok Holiday Jung Myunggeun, mayor of Hwaseong City, is presiding over the 'Chuseok Holiday Comprehensive Measures Meeting' held in the city hall situation room on the 30th. Provided by Hwaseong City

The comprehensive situation team will consist of a total of 566 people across 12 units: the General Coordination Unit, Disaster Response Unit, Livestock Disease Response Unit, Emergency Medical Response Unit, Wildfire Response Unit, Water and Sewage Unit, Fuel and Energy Response Unit, Traffic Response Unit, Price Stabilization Unit, Welfare Response Unit, Sanitation Response Unit, and Park Management Unit.

The Disaster Response Unit has already conducted pre-holiday safety inspections on fire, electricity, and building safety at 12 multi-use facilities, including large supermarkets and traditional markets where crowds are expected. During the holiday, a 24-hour disaster situation room will be operated to ensure an immediate response in the event of a disaster.

To maintain an uninterrupted emergency medical system, the public health center will also operate a 24-hour situation room. During this period, five medical institutions including Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital will provide 24-hour medical services, along with seven public late-night pharmacies, five pediatric night clinics, and three Dalbit Children's Hospitals. Detailed information on emergency medical services can be found on the emergency medical information app and the emergency medical portal.

The Price Stabilization Unit will implement several measures: expanding the issuance of the Hope Hwaseong Local Currency, focusing on the management of 20 key holiday items, monitoring compliance with the price labeling system, and temporarily allowing parking on roads around traditional markets. To ease the financial burden on citizens during the holidays, the city has already increased the monthly purchase limit of Hope Hwaseong Local Currency from 500,000 won to 1 million won for September and October, and will provide an additional 10% cashback for payments of 30,000 won or more until October 4.

To alleviate traffic congestion and reduce citizens' expenses during the holiday travel period, the city will exempt tolls on the Bibong-Maesong urban expressway from October 4 to 7, and open 69 public paid parking lots free of charge from October 3 to 9.

Meanwhile, household waste will be collected as usual on October 3, 5, 7, 8, and 9, but on October 4, collection will take place only in the morning.

Mayor Jung said, "All departments must thoroughly prepare in advance to ensure there are no administrative gaps during the Chuseok holiday," and urged, "Please prioritize the safety and convenience of citizens so that everyone can enjoy a safe and warm holiday, and carry out your responsibilities with a strong sense of duty."
