This solution is designed to help protect and manage the safety of industrial site workers in real time. It is currently available on the Galaxy Watch7 LTE model, with support for additional devices to be expanded in the future.
Site managers can use the SmartThings Pro dashboard on a PC or tablet to monitor workers' biometric data-such as skin temperature, heart rate, and fall detection-as well as environmental data like temperature and humidity in real time from workers wearing the Galaxy Watch.
If changes in the work environment are detected, such as a heat index exceeding safe levels or a fall, the SmartThings Pro Safety Management Solution automatically sends emergency notifications to nearby workers and safety managers, enabling a swift response.
When a worker enters a pre-designated danger zone set by the manager, the solution immediately sends notifications to the worker, nearby colleagues, and safety managers to help minimize potential risks.
If a worker recognizes a dangerous situation, such as being trapped in a confined space or detecting a fire, pressing the SOS button on the Galaxy Watch will instantly alert nearby workers and safety managers. Managers can use the solution to check the worker's location and initiate a voice call, which can be helpful in emergency situations.
In addition, the SmartThings Pro Safety Management Solution provides a feature for managers to remotely deliver work-related information or important notices to employees, thereby improving work efficiency. During a heat wave warning, the solution can send alerts about heat illness precautions and recommend breaks; during heavy rain warnings, it can instruct safety facility inspections and deliver flood caution messages through the Galaxy Watch.
This solution can be utilized in a variety of industrial settings, including construction and production sites, logistics centers, public and private enterprises, isolation wards, and resorts. As a systematic, data-driven solution, it also supports ongoing improvements to the working environment.
Park Chanwoo, Executive Vice President and Head of the B2B Solutions Team at Samsung Electronics, stated, "We will continue to develop differentiated AI B2B solutions that can be applied to various industrial sites, contributing to worker safety and improved productivity."
