A student from the Department of Electric Vehicle at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President: Kim Youngdo, Department Head: Park Jaemin) received an award in the Green Automobile Maintenance category at the 13th Private Skills Competition, hosted by the Korea Skills Union on September 6, 2025.

This competition was held at the Green Automobile Vocational School in Busan, with support from Busan Metropolitan City, the Busan Regional Employment and Labor Office, and the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. The competition was divided into four categories: automobile maintenance, green automobile maintenance, automobile body repair, and automobile diagnostic evaluation.

Namkyung Lee stated, "It was challenging to prepare for both the university student self-made car competition and the skills competition since summer vacation, but receiving this award made the experience even more valuable. Thanks to the systematic practical training at the university's designated skills test center and the living scholarship provided through the seven-stage BB21+ project supported by Busan Metropolitan City, I was able to achieve good results."

Professor Jongho Lee, an advisor in the Department of Electric Vehicle, commented, "This year, eight graduates were hired for production and service positions at Kia Motors, and I believe that winning awards at competitions and obtaining certifications played a significant role. I am grateful to the students who worked hard to prepare for the competition, and we will continue to strengthen our position as the leading automotive department in the southeastern region."

Established in 1995, the Department of Electric Vehicle at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology has trained more than 5,000 professionals in the automotive field to date. The department actively participates in various workforce development programs, including the Ministry of Employment and Labor's 'Work-Study Dual System for Enrolled Students,' the 'CHEHaejin University Project,' and the 'BB21+ Eco-Friendly Automotive Workforce Development Project' supported by Busan Metropolitan City.
