Ministry of Science and ICT Holds Situation Assessment Meeting Led by Minister... "24-Hour Emergency Work System" Paik Kyung-hoon, Minister of Science and ICT, Yonhap News

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 27th that it held a situation assessment meeting presided over by Minister Paik Kyung-hoon in response to administrative system disruptions caused by the fire at the National Information Resources Service (NIRS), and raised the crisis alert level from "caution" to "serious."


The Ministry of Science and ICT stated, "Following the fire at the NIRS Daejeon headquarters, we have entered a 24-hour emergency work system," adding, "We are working to promptly communicate and share information about the disruptions in order to minimize inconvenience and damage to the public."


Currently, the websites of the Ministry of Science and ICT and its affiliated agencies, internal administrative systems, and systems for postal financial and mail services are experiencing disruptions. The ministry is also disseminating information about the postal service disruptions to the public via emergency disaster text messages from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.


The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to swiftly inform the public about the significant disruptions to postal financial and mail services, and will work in cooperation with the NIRS to utilize all available resources to restore services as quickly as possible.
