From May to September, the provincial office operated intensive training sessions aimed at enhancing edutech competencies for special education teachers and inclusive classroom teachers in the province. This month, it trained and certified over 200 "Special Education Edutech Master Instructor" teachers.

This training was designed in line with the implementation tasks of the "Three-Year Plan for Revitalizing Special Education in Gyeonggi Province" promoted by the provincial office. After providing customized edutech competency training for special education teachers in 2024, the office is now expanding the target group in 2025 to include inclusive classroom teachers for the first time nationwide, focusing on spreading the foundation for edutech utilization in special education settings.

The training program covered practical topics that can be immediately applied in the field, such as: ▲ utilizing customized digital learning content tailored to different types of disabilities; ▲ methods for applying edutech during lesson planning and operation; and ▲ using the latest digital tools to support the learning, communication, and career preparation of students with special educational needs. Participating teachers engaged in hands-on practice by developing and applying learning materials themselves, striving to improve their ability to implement these methods in the classroom.

Special education teachers and inclusive classroom teachers who completed the training were granted the qualification of "Special Education Edutech Master Instructor." These instructors will serve as trainers and consultants in their respective regions, supporting schools in building systematic and sustainable models for edutech utilization.

On the day of the training in Yangpyeong, Superintendent Lim Taehee visited the venue and personally encouraged each attending teacher for their hard work. Superintendent Lim stated, "My wish is for special education in Gyeonggi Province to be at a level that can stand alongside that of any advanced country," adding, "I will work to establish systems that ensure the current three-year plan for Gyeonggi special education can move on to its second and third phases by providing ongoing support as needed."

He continued, "As times change, customized education for students with special educational needs becomes even more essential, and I believe strengthening teachers' competencies is just as important. With the establishment of the Gyeonggi Special Education Institute next year, and as teachers utilize it for education and research, I am confident that special education in Gyeonggi will improve year after year as we combine our efforts on the ground."

Meanwhile, the provincial office plans to introduce additional edutech training in 2026 that connects with families, aiming to establish a comprehensive support system that assists not only with students' school life but also with adaptation at home and in society. Through these efforts, the office will actively work to ensure that students with special educational needs can develop balanced digital skills required for future society.
