Hampyeong County in South Jeolla Province announced on September 26 that it will operate a 'Hospital Visit Culture Improvement Campaign Week' ahead of the Chuseok holiday to prevent infectious diseases and promote a safe hospital visit culture.

The county will run the campaign from September 29 to October 10, conducting on-site inspections at medical institutions and carrying out promotional activities. In light of the continued risk of infectious diseases such as COVID-19, the county is emphasizing the importance of refraining from unnecessary hospital visits and adhering to safety guidelines.

During the campaign, the county will inspect hospital visit systems, including the management of visiting areas, the availability of hand sanitizers, and the control of visitor movement. Promotional posters and informational leaflets outlining the three key hospital visit practices-'Check, Refrain, and Protect'-have also been distributed.

Since September 22, the county health center has been visiting local hospitals, including Hampyeong Seongsim Hospital, Hampyeong Public Nursing Hospital, and the Armed Forces Hampyeong Hospital, to take the lead in establishing a healthy hospital visit culture.

During the campaign period, the county plans to continue promoting a safe hospital visit culture not only within medical institutions but also through various media channels, including social networking services (SNS) and electronic billboards.

County Governor Lee Sangik stated, "Hospital visits are acts of care for patients, but if done improperly, they can become a channel for the spread of infectious diseases. I hope all residents will practice proper hospital visit etiquette and join us in creating a safer medical environment."
