Andong Hospital, operated by the Andong Medical Foundation and the official partner hospital for the APEC Summit, chaired by Kang Shinhong, will implement an emergency medical care system that fully mobilizes its specialized regional centers to eliminate any gaps in emergency medical services during the Chuseok holiday period.
This measure is in preparation for a potential increase in serious emergency cases, such as traffic accidents and cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases, which may arise due to long-distance travel.
◆ Full Operation of Regional Centers... Doctor Helicopter Dispatched Within 25 Minutes
The Regional Emergency Medical Center will have 14 emergency medicine specialists on duty 24 hours a day, and 9 pediatric specialists will also be on standby at all times, ensuring uninterrupted care for common holiday illnesses as well as pediatric cardiac, gastrointestinal, and allergy emergencies.
The Regional Trauma Center will have 9 dedicated specialists in thoracic surgery, orthopedics, and neurosurgery to provide immediate surgical intervention and trauma-specific intensive care. The doctor helicopter will operate as usual throughout the holiday, arriving on site within 25 minutes of a request to provide emergency treatment.
The Regional Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Center will operate five angiography machines around the clock, enabling prompt procedures even in simultaneous emergency situations. The Regional Psychiatric Emergency Medical Center has also strengthened its local cooperative network to treat psychiatric emergency patients with accompanying physical illnesses.

Andong Hospital has completed the assignment of all specialists, as well as nursing and administrative staff, and has put in place measures to prevent infectious diseases. Notably, the hospital will offer regular outpatient services even on the substitute holiday immediately following Chuseok, October 8, minimizing inconvenience for local residents.

Meanwhile, the Andong Hospital Regional Emergency Medical Center has been awarded an 'A grade' for eight consecutive years-the only one in Daegu and Gyeongbuk-by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and recently received the highest 'S grade' for three consecutive years in the Emergency Medical Contribution Evaluation, demonstrating its capabilities in emergency and urgent care.
