Guri City Focuses on Pre-Festival Safety Inspections for the Cosmos Festival
Guri City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyunghyun) announced on the 26th that it had conducted a total of three joint on-site safety inspections at the festival venue from the 22nd to the 25th in preparation for the opening of the "2025 Guri Cosmos Festival."

The joint inspection involved a total of 20 participants, including officials from Guri City, Guri Fire Station, Guri Police Station, Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, Korea Gas Safety Corporation, as well as private experts such as Guri City's safety manager advisory group and architectural specialists. Each group conducted safety checks in their respective fields, putting their utmost effort into ensuring the safety of visitors.
The inspection team followed the local festival venue safety management checklist, which included: ▲measures to prevent the overturning of stage and auxiliary facility structures; ▲management of stage and audience area partitions to prevent safety accidents due to crowd congestion; ▲inspection of electrical safety device management; ▲assessment of gas facility installations in the food zone; ▲confirmation of fire extinguisher placement for fire prevention; and ▲inspection of other accident prevention facilities.
In addition, the team checked whether the recommendations from the safety management plan review by the Guri City Safety Management Working Committee, which was held on September 12, had been implemented.

Baek Kyunghyun, Mayor of Guri City, urged, "The 2025 Guri Cosmos Festival is a signature flower festival of the metropolitan area in autumn. Please do your utmost to ensure that all citizens and tourists can enjoy the festival with peace of mind through thorough safety inspections."
Meanwhile, the city plans to conduct additional safety inspections during the festival period, including a food booth food poisoning prevention inspection on the 26th and a pre-fireworks show safety inspection on the 28th. Guri City will also operate a comprehensive situation room during the festival to devote all efforts to safety management.
