Mayor Kim Donggeun toured various areas of Uijeongbu Jeil Market, met with merchants to listen to their difficulties caused by rising prices and their suggestions, and expressed his gratitude for their dedication in quietly supporting the local economy.

He also actively promoted the use of traditional markets by purchasing holiday essentials with Onnuri gift certificates and urged compliance with price labeling regulations to address concerns about price gouging ahead of the holiday.

Mayor Kim stated, "A traditional market is not simply a place for commercial transactions, but a space for the local community where neighbors share warmth," adding, "We will continue to develop a variety of support measures so that more citizens can visit traditional markets."

Meanwhile, the city plans to continue providing practical support, such as the modernization of traditional markets and maintenance of arcades.
