Accelerating Preparations for Yangsan's Signature Festival
Aiming for Both Enjoyment and Safety for All
Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province conducted a joint on-site inspection with the administrative support team on September 25 at the main venues-Yangsancheon riverside and Yangsan Sports Complex-to ensure the successful operation of the 2025 Yangsan Sapryang Cultural Festival, which will be held for three days from October 3 to 5.

This inspection followed the progress report meeting held on September 9 and was organized as a final check of preparations one day before the festival's opening. Departments affiliated with the administrative support team, the Yangsan Cultural Foundation, and related organizations all participated in the review.
The inspection focused on several key areas: preparations for the "Yangsan Love People Gathering" event inside the indoor gymnasium; ensuring safety in crowded zones such as booths, the ssireum (traditional wrestling) arena, and the kids' zone; management of the special stage and electrical and lighting facilities; enhanced safety management for Gukgye Bridge and Sapryang Whale Island; hygiene management in the food zone; safety measures for fireworks and nighttime entry and exit; and emergency response systems in case of rain. All aspects were thoroughly discussed to prioritize festival safety and citizen convenience.
In particular, as high attendance is expected for the Gukgye Bridge and Sapryang Whale Island exploration programs, which are highly anticipated by citizens, the safety management system was further strengthened and emergency response plans were carefully reviewed.
Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, "While the festival's splendor and fun are important, above all, safety is the top priority. Not only today's on-site inspection but also joint inspections with related agencies will be used to thoroughly prepare for potential risks in advance, so that both citizens and visitors can enjoy the festival with peace of mind."
This year's Yangsan Sapryang Cultural Festival, held under the slogan "Beyond 30 Years, Leaping into Yangsan's Future," will feature a variety of performances, hands-on experiences, exhibitions, and food programs, making it a signature autumn festival where citizens can experience both community unity and regional cultural identity.
