"Minimizing Gaps in Medical Services"

In preparation for medical emergencies during the upcoming Chuseok holiday, 540 hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, will remain open.

On September 25, the city announced its plan to minimize medical service gaps by ensuring that a total of 387 hospitals and clinics, along with 153 pharmacies, will be operating during the Chuseok holiday period.

Six emergency medical institutions in the Jeonju area-Chonbuk National University Hospital, Jesus Hospital, Daejeon Hospital, Jeonju Hospital, Hoseong Jeonju Hospital, and Korea Hospital-will continue to operate their emergency rooms 24 hours a day as usual.

In particular, three public late-night pharmacies (Sarang Pharmacy, Yeom Pharmacy, and 365 Inhu Large Onnuri Pharmacy) will be available even during late-night hours, while two pediatric night and holiday clinics (Jeonju Dasol Children's Hospital and Haemalgeun Union Pediatric Clinic) will also be open to enhance access to medical care. Additionally, Jeonju Public Health Center, Deokjin Public Health Center, and three community health clinics (Jungin, Geumsang, and Dodeok) will provide emergency medical services on a duty roster basis.

Furthermore, during the Chuseok holiday, emergency medical situation rooms will be set up and operated at both Jeonju Public Health Center and Deokjin Public Health Center, with dedicated supervisors at each emergency medical institution to continuously monitor on-site situations. The city also plans to respond promptly to prevent inconvenience for citizens by providing information on available medical institutions and pharmacies and by checking the emergency medical system.

Information about medical institutions and pharmacies available for treatment can be found in the integrated information section for the Chuseok holiday on the Jeonju City website, as well as in the notices section of the Jeonju Public Health Center website.

Information will also be provided for citizens visiting other regions during the holiday. Through the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Emergency Medical Information (e-gen)' app, users can easily check nationwide medical institutions available for treatment. The app can be downloaded from the Play Store or App Store by searching for 'emergency' or 'emergency medical.' It also includes a feature that allows users to check the real-time operation status of nearby medical institutions and pharmacies based on their location.

Jeonju Public Health Center will establish an emergency response team to prepare for potential outbreaks of infectious diseases, strengthen monitoring of medical institutions reporting such diseases, and operate an emergency duty and contact system to ensure a swift response in the event of group diarrhea cases or other incidents.

Kim Sinsun, head of Jeonju Public Health Center, stated, "We will thoroughly respond through the emergency medical situation room and the infectious disease emergency response team to ensure that citizens, returning visitors, and tourists can enjoy a safe holiday during Chuseok."
