Hotel Lotte Duty Free Passes License Renewal Review
Operations Extended Until December 2030
"Will Fulfill Responsibilities as the Center of Korea's Shopping Tourism"
Lotte Duty Free announced on September 23 that it has passed the five-year license renewal review for its Myeongdong main store in downtown Seoul.
The Korea Customs Service's Duty-Free Shop License Review Committee convened in the afternoon at the Korea Customs Human Resources Development Institute in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, to review the agenda for license renewals of downtown duty-free shops in Seoul. The committee decided to renew the license for Hotel Lotte (Lotte Duty Free Myeongdong Main Store).
Lotte Duty Free Myeongdong Main Store scored 824.34 points out of a possible 1,000 in areas such as implementation record and future plans, successfully securing the license renewal. In particular, the store reportedly received favorable evaluations for its management of bonded areas, business capabilities, contributions to society, and efforts for mutual growth. As a result, the operating period for Lotte Duty Free Myeongdong Main Store has been extended until December 2030.
A Lotte Duty Free representative stated, "Lotte Duty Free Myeongdong Main Store is a flagship duty-free outlet representing Korea, and this license renewal once again affirms its value. We will continue to provide the best possible experience to tourists visiting Korea from around the world and fulfill our responsibilities and role as the center of Korea's shopping tourism."
