Gyeonggi Province, in collaboration with Kyonggi University, held the "Zero Jeonse Fraud! Quiz Competition" on the 23rd at Kyonggi University's Choi Hojun Hall, attended by over 200 students and young professionals.
This event was organized to protect young people, who are most vulnerable to fraud due to their lack of experience with real estate contracts.
Hosted by comedian Oh Jiheon and Kyonggi University graduate school professor Kim Sunjoo, the event featured a talk concert and quiz competition with panels of experts and students.
During the talk concert, the youth panel posed practical questions that may arise in real estate transactions, such as "What is the difference between the Gap-gu and Eul-gu sections of a certified copy of the real estate register?" and "What special clauses must be included in a contract?" Experts introduced the latest fraud schemes, including "Kkangtong Jeonse" and "trust scams," and provided concrete prevention measures such as legal protections at each stage of the contract and government support programs.

Based on the results of this pilot education and feedback from participants, Gyeonggi Province will conduct "Jeonse Fraud Prevention Training" for employees working at Gyeonggi Convergence Town on October 27.
Next year, Gyeonggi Province will expand the target audience for its customized "Jeonse Fraud Prevention Academy" to include young professionals, high school students, and office workers throughout the province, in addition to other youth groups, to prevent Jeonse fraud.
Son Imseong, Director of Urban Housing at Gyeonggi Province, said, "I hope today's event has given young people the confidence to become 'wise tenants' who protect their rights, rather than 'victims.' Next year, we will systematically prepare the academy to provide practical help to residents, including young people, and do our best to make Gyeonggi Province free from concerns about Jeonse fraud."
