The KOSPI has reached an all-time high.
On the 23rd, the KOSPI index closed at 3,486.19, up 17.54 points (0.51%) from the previous trading day. During the session, it climbed as high as 3,494.49, setting new all-time records for both the intraday high and closing price.

The rise in the KOSPI was driven by foreign investors. Foreign investors recorded a net purchase of 298.5 billion won, while individual investors and institutions posted net sales of 245.1 billion won and 136.3 billion won, respectively. Individuals started the session as net buyers, but shifted to selling as they took profits.
By sector, electrical and electronics rose by 1.67%, while pharmaceuticals (1.59%), electricity and gas (0.98%), and manufacturing (0.95%) also posted significant gains. In contrast, securities (-2.31%), transportation and storage (-1.19%), and IT services (-1.07%) declined.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, performance was mixed. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix closed up by 1.44% and 2.8%, respectively. LG Energy Solution and Samsung Biologics also rose by 2.20% and 0.97%, respectively. On the other hand, Hanwha Aerospace (-1.76%), KB Financial Group (-1.28%), and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (-0.60%) declined.
In contrast, the KOSDAQ index ended the session at 872.21, down 2.15 points (0.25%) from the previous day, reversing after four consecutive days of gains. In the KOSDAQ market, foreign investors and institutions recorded net sales of 125.6 billion won and 79.9 billion won, respectively, while individual investors recorded a net purchase of 220 billion won.
Among the top 10 KOSDAQ stocks by market capitalization, EcoPro BM (0.51%), Peptron (1.32%), EcoPro (0.20%), Samchundang Pharm (0.39%), and LIG ChemBio (2.56%) rose. Alteogen (-4.93%), PharmaResearch (-4.76%), Rainbow Robotics (-2.38%), ABL Bio (-0.37%), and HLB (-0.51%) declined.
In the Seoul foreign exchange market, the won-dollar exchange rate ended weekly trading at 1,392.6 won, remaining steady.
