With this agreement, the savings bank industry and the foundation will carry out practical development projects for small business owners and self-employed individuals in traditional markets.
Starting today, they will launch a support project for essential infrastructure, such as rent assistance, targeting six regions across the country. Approximately 135 business sites are expected to receive support this year.
The foundation, established under the 'Special Act on the Promotion of Traditional Markets and Shopping Districts', provides support for young merchants, entrepreneurship education, and consulting services to traditional markets and shopping districts nationwide. It is also conducting a digital capacity-building project for traditional markets.
On this day, executives and employees of the Federation visited Seonyudo Alley Market in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, where they participated in environmental cleanup activities and visited around 80 stores to deliver donated goods.
Oh Hwakyeong, President of the Federation, stated, "Through this agreement and volunteer activities, we have created a sense of solidarity between the savings banks and the foundation," adding, "Both organizations will continue to strengthen practical support for small business owners and local self-employed individuals in various fields."
