Korea Western Power has launched a company-wide initiative to strengthen workplace safety ahead of the year-end period, which is known to be vulnerable to industrial accidents.

On September 23, Korea Western Power held the "Zero Serious Accidents! Safe Workplace D-100 Campaign Proclamation Ceremony" at its headquarters in Taean, Chungnam, marking the start of 100 days of safety activities. All business sites, including the Taean, Pyeongtaek, Seoincheon, Gunsan, and Gimpo Power Generation Headquarters, as well as the Gumi and Gongju Construction Headquarters, participated via video conference.

This campaign is part of a regular safety initiative that has continued since 2021. This year's slogan is "Back to Safety Basics! Turning Crisis into Opportunity." Over the 100 days leading up to the end of the year, Korea Western Power, together with its partner companies, will focus on three main activities: ▲ preventing and managing accident recurrence, ▲ strengthening risk assessments, and ▲ promoting supervisor-led and worker-participatory initiatives. The company will implement nine detailed action items centered on these three pillars. In particular, it will prioritize identifying and improving blind spots in safety control, intensively managing high-risk tasks, and fostering mutual safety with partner companies as core tasks.

During the campaign, the company plans to reward business sites that demonstrate outstanding safety performance and encourage all employees to wear safety badges to promote a culture of safety in daily work.

Lee Jungbok, President of Korea Western Power, stated, "Safety is not a choice but a matter of survival, and it is directly linked to the company's existence. With renewed determination, we will ensure the eradication of serious accidents and the spread of a safety culture."
