Mayor Paek Kyunghyun Inspects Festival Facilities Along Visitor Routes
Prioritizing Citizen Safety in Preparations
Guri City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Paek Kyunghyun) announced on September 23 that a preliminary on-site inspection was conducted at Guri Hangang Citizens Park, the venue for the '2025 Guri Cosmos Festival,' at 7 a.m. on September 22, ahead of the festival's opening on the 26th.

The inspection was attended by approximately 40 people, including Paek Kyunghyun, mayor of Guri City, the deputy mayor, policy advisors, department heads, and officials from relevant departments and cooperating organizations, who reviewed all aspects of the festival preparations.
The inspection team meticulously checked the festival site along the anticipated visitor routes, including the large cosmos flower fields, the main stage and subsidiary event areas, the zones for experience and promotional booths, and the entrances and exits of parking lots. They also directed that additional safety measures be implemented, prioritizing the safety of visitors above all else.
Under the theme "Into Autumn Along the Cosmos Flower Road, To Guri," the festival will be held for three days from September 26 to 28. The event will feature a variety of programs, including performances by well-known singers, the traditional folk game experience 'Guribeolmal Dari Balgi,' a cosmos tour train, and booths operated by traditional markets and small business owners. Special events such as a three-day stamp tour, a lifelong learning festival, and a culinary competition will also be held in collaboration with the local community, and a large number of visitors are expected to attend.
Paek Kyunghyun, mayor of Guri City, stated, "Only when safety is ensured can both citizens and tourists comfortably enjoy the festival," adding, "We will remain vigilant and dedicate our utmost efforts to on-site safety management until the event concludes, so that this can become a model festival that realizes 'Joyful Change, Happier Guri City.'"
