Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 23rd that it had received the grand prize in the "2025 Senior Job and Social Activity Support Program Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The city explained that it achieved outstanding results in both the implementation of senior job programs and efforts to improve their quality in this evaluation, which was conducted among 1,167 implementing agencies and 226 cities, counties, and districts nationwide.
In particular, Siheung Silver Workforce Bank, the senior job implementing agency in Siheung City, received the highest rating of "S grade" in this evaluation. In addition, Siheung City Senior Welfare Center and Siheung City Senior Club were also selected as excellent institutions.
The city is promoting a variety of programs to expand and improve the quality of jobs for seniors. A total of 6,063 seniors are participating in programs operated by five implementing agencies. Major programs include: ▲ customized public interest activities for seniors such as school safety patrols and management of disabled parking areas tailored to local needs; ▲ programs utilizing senior capabilities such as support for social welfare facilities and senior supporters; and ▲ community business groups jointly operating small stores and professional business units, such as Silver Cafe and Senior Convenience Store.
Lim Byeongtaek, Mayor of Siheung City, stated, "We will continue to provide generous support to discover innovative, high-quality jobs so that the new generation of seniors can enjoy a healthy and vibrant later life."
