Enhancing Humanities Knowledge and Sensitivity
Providing Opportunities to Experience Reading Culture
Dong Daejeon Library will run a reading culture program for adults from October to November.
This program is designed to enhance citizens' humanities knowledge and sensitivity through cultural and artistic activities based on reading, and to allow participants to experience various reading cultures in their daily lives.
The program consists of four courses: Emotional Drawing in Books (Urban Sketching Basics), Book Goods Knitting (Beginner), Creating Picture Books, and Lettering with Good Quotes. After the lectures, participants will also be supported in forming self-directed clubs.
The courses are divided as follows: 'Emotional Drawing in Books' held every Monday starting October 13, 'Book Goods Knitting' every Tuesday from October 14, 'Creating Picture Books' every Wednesday from October 15, and 'Lettering with Good Quotes' every Thursday from October 16. Each class is limited to 10 to 20 participants.
Registration will be available from 9 a.m. on September 29 through the Daejeon City OK Reservation Service, and all courses are free of charge. However, participants are responsible for the cost of textbooks and materials.
Byun Okjin, head of the Information Services Team at Dong Daejeon Library, stated, "We have prepared a variety of reading culture programs so that everyone can be closer to books and culture in their daily lives," adding, "We will continue to create an open reading culture space that grows together with citizens."
