Listening to Residents' Concerns
Encouraging a Bountiful Chuseok for All
Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province has officially begun the second round of “Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon” distribution across all towns and villages. On the first day of issuance, Governor Jin Byeongyoung visited the site to communicate directly with residents and listen to their concerns.
On September 22, Governor Jin visited the Hamyang Town Office to inspect the application and issuance process. He carefully reviewed the inconveniences reported during the first round of distribution and provided guidance to ensure improvements in the second round. He also urged residents to use the consumption coupons within the designated period to prevent them from expiring.
Jin Byeongyoung, the governor of Hamyang County, visited the site on the first day of issuance to communicate directly with the residents and listen to their difficulties.
Governor Jin stated, “We will further expand the number of affiliated stores and provide administration that is even closer to the people so that residents experience no inconvenience in using the coupons,” adding, “I hope this consumption coupon will provide real support for the stability of residents' lives and revitalization of the local economy.”
The Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon is a joint project between the government and local authorities, aimed at stimulating local consumption, which has been dampened by high interest rates and inflation, and supporting the stability of residents' livelihoods. In the first round, a total of 7.8 billion won was distributed to more than 35,000 people, playing a significant role in revitalizing local businesses.
The second round will provide 100,000 won per person to a total of 34,268 recipients. The application period runs from September 22 to October 31, and the coupons can be used until November 30. Both the first and second round coupons must be used within the designated period, and any unused balance will expire in full after that date.
Applications can be submitted offline at town and village offices or local NongHyup branches, as well as online via card company websites and the ZeroPay app. In addition, a “visiting application service” will be offered in cooperation with local officials and village heads to assist residents with mobility difficulties, ensuring broad and convenient access to the application process.
