Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province will hold a public hearing on the "Bucheon Industrial District Master Plan (Draft)" at the Fantastic Cube in Bucheon City Hall on September 26.
This public hearing is part of the statutory process for establishing a legal plan under Article 9 of the Special Act on the Management and Revitalization of Urban Industrial Districts. It has been organized to discuss long-term development strategies for the reorganization and revitalization of industrial spaces across all industrial districts in Bucheon.
The city is currently drafting a plan that diagnoses the current status and issues of its industrial districts, sets management types by region (innovation, reorganization, management), recommends usage and density standards, and proposes ways to expand infrastructure. In particular, this public hearing aims to enhance the effectiveness and public acceptance of the plan by gathering a wide range of opinions from experts and citizens.
Bucheon Mayor Cho Yongik stated, "This industrial district master plan will serve as an important standard for future reorganization plans," and added, "For the future of Bucheon, where people and industry grow together, I ask for the public's interest and active feedback."
After the public hearing, Bucheon City plans to finalize and officially announce the plan by early next year, following consultations with the city council and the Urban Planning Committee. Anyone can participate in the public hearing without prior registration.
