The KB Financial Group Women's Amateur Golf Championship is known as the birthplace of Korean women's golf stars, with past champions including Kim Hyojoo (2009), Ko Jin-young (2012), Ji Hansol (2013), and Yoo Hyunjo (2022). The winner of this tournament earns the right to compete in the following year's KB Financial Star Championship, a major event on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour.

Kim Yeonseo (Jinju Foreign Language High School, sophomore), a member of the national reserve team and defending champion, is considered a strong contender. Other top favorites include Hong Sumin (Cheonan Jungang High School Affiliated Cyber High School, senior), Nam Sieun (Chungju High School Affiliated Cyber High School, senior), Sung Haein (Bomun High School, freshman), Lee Sieun (Namnyeong High School, freshman), and Pyo Songhyun (Suncheon High School Affiliated Cyber High School, sophomore), all of whom received the Best Amateur Award at this year's KB Financial Star Championship.

A representative from KB Financial Group stated, "We hope this tournament will serve as a springboard for promising athletes to become world-class players," adding, "KB Financial Group will continue to provide warm partnerships so that Korea's young golf talents can grow into athletes who inspire dreams and hope among the public."
