Over 120 Million Won Donated to Local Communities Since 2019
Contributions to Strengthening Infrastructure in Healthcare, Safety, and Education
SK On announced on September 22 that it received the "Innovative CSR Practice Award" at the "1st CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Awards Ceremony for Korean Companies in Hungary," hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Hungary, which took place in Budapest, Hungary, on the 19th (local time). This event was organized to encourage Korean companies' social responsibility activities and to widely share exemplary cases, aiming to promote sustainable development and mutual understanding between Korea and Hungary.

The judging process evaluated CSR activities conducted in Hungary, assessing contributions in various areas such as ▲community engagement, ▲promotion of inclusivity and diversity, ▲environmental protection, and ▲education and welfare. Eight Korean companies operating in Hungary, including Samsung SDI and Samsung Electronics, were among the award recipients.
Since establishing an electric vehicle battery plant in Kom?rom, Hungary in 2018, SK On has pursued sustainable growth with the local community. Since 2019, the company has donated over 120 million won to the Kom?rom and Iv?ncsa public foundations. These contributions have been used to strengthen medical and safety infrastructure in Kom?rom, support youth education and cultural activities in Iv?ncsa, and assist socially disadvantaged groups.
Additionally, SK On has collaborated with local elementary, middle, and high schools to run educational programs aimed at nurturing talent for the battery industry, thereby supporting the development of future professionals. The company has also built trust with the local community through direct participation in activities such as employee volunteering, plogging, and blood donation campaigns.
In recognition of these efforts, SK On received the "County Representative Company Award" from Kom?rom-Esztergom County in 2021, and last year, "SK Road" was established in Iv?ncsa.
Sejin Kim, Head of SK On's European Production Corporation, stated, "I believe this is not only the result of SK On's efforts but also the fruit of collaboration with the Hungarian local community," adding, "We will continue to pursue activities for mutual growth with the local community."
