Follow-up Measures to the President's Regulatory Reform Meeting
to Be Discussed in Seoul on the 24th
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it will hold a forum on autonomous driving in Seoul on the 24th. The event, presided over by Vice Minister Kang Heeup, aims to gather feedback from the field and discuss directions for policy improvement.
As a follow-up to the 1st Core Regulation Rationalization Strategy Meeting held on the 15th, President Lee Jaemyung plans to concretize institutional improvement measures based on the topics discussed at that time. The meeting, presided over by President Lee, will address ways to utilize original video data for autonomous driving learning purposes without de-identification, as well as measures to expand pilot operation demonstration zones for autonomous vehicles.

In addition, the forum will cover various issues related to autonomous driving, such as institutionalizing autonomous driving services including safety management and control, allowing foreign autonomous vehicles to enter the domestic market, and collaboration strategies with the transportation industry in line with the commercialization of autonomous vehicles. Relevant ministries-including the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Science and ICT-as well as the Seoul Metropolitan Government, autonomous driving companies, related organizations, academia, experts, and civic groups will participate.
Vice Minister Kang emphasized, "The autonomous driving industry is a key sector not only for improving convenience in daily life and transportation, but also for driving real growth in our economy. It is more important than ever to carefully listen to voices from the field and to communicate more closely."
