Submissions Open for One Month Starting September 22
Seocho District in Seoul (District Mayor Jeon Seongsu) will hold a photo contest featuring companion animals from September 22 to October 22, ahead of the “2025 Seocho Pet Tech Festival” scheduled for November 1, 2025.
The “2025 Seocho Pet Tech Festival” will be held under the theme “The Encounter of AI and Companion Dogs,” reflecting the growth of the companion animal industry and its convergence with advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). Seocho District, which is home to the nation’s first Yangjae AI Special Zone, plans to present a unique festival that combines companion animals with future technologies through this event.
The photo contest is open to all Seocho District residents and invites submissions under the theme “Happy Everyday Life with Companion Animals.” Entries can be submitted via the official website. Judging will comprehensively consider relevance to the theme, creativity, expressiveness, and completeness. Seven winning entries (one grand prize, two excellence awards, and four encouragement awards) will be announced on October 27. The awards ceremony will be held on the day of the festival, where the mayor of Seocho District will personally present certificates and gifts of pet supplies.
The original winning photos will be exhibited at the festival venue and converted into videos using generative AI for screening. In addition to the photo contest, the main event will feature various programs to enjoy with companion dogs, including a “Companion Dog Fashion Show,” “Petiquette Sports Day,” “AI Squid Game,” and a “Talent Show.”
Jeon Seongsu, Mayor of Seocho District, stated, “I hope this photo contest will help create new memories of happy moments with companion animals. I also look forward to your interest and participation in the Seocho Pet Tech Festival, and I will continue to make Seocho a pet-friendly city where both pet owners and non-pet owners can coexist.”
