Firefighter Also Suffers Burn Injuries
At around 12:45 AM on September 21, a fire broke out on the first floor of a three-story multi-family house in Toegyewon-eup, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi Province.

As a result of the fire, a woman in her 40s and her 7-year-old son, who were inside the house, were found in cardiac arrest and transported to a nearby hospital. Their heartbeats returned spontaneously, but they remain unconscious.
Additionally, twelve residents were either rescued by 119 firefighters or evacuated on their own, and one firefighter sustained burns during the process.
The fire was extinguished within 45 minutes by firefighters who responded to the emergency call.
The fire authorities and police are investigating the cause of the fire, believing it started in the laundry room of the first-floor unit based on witness statements.
