Seongnam Mayor Shin Sangjin attended the opening performance of the "2025 Seongnam Festival," held on the evening of the 20th at the Central Park outdoor stage, and officially declared the grand opening of the festival.

The opening performance was centered around the innovative main content, "Forest Theater: Donghwa (Moving Flowers)," which fused cutting-edge technology and art. Citizens participated as members of the choir, adding to the true meaning of the festival.

After watching the main content, which lasted about 50 minutes, Mayor Shin took the stage to deliver his opening remarks.

Mayor Shin stated, "This is a meaningful performance that showcases Seongnam's innovative challenges," and added, "Through this festival, which brings together advanced technology, art, nature, and the passion of our citizens, we will realize the values of coexistence and integration, and embark on a new leap forward as a global cultural city."

He also expressed his gratitude, saying, "I would like to extend my deepest thanks to Professor Lee Jinjoon of KAIST, the festival’s general director, the orchestra of over 70 members, the citizen choir of more than 1,000 people, and all those who dedicated themselves to making this moment possible."

Lastly, Mayor Shin officially declared the opening of the festival, stating, "From now until the 28th, the 2025 Seongnam Festival, a festival by the citizens, for the citizens, and of the citizens, will begin in earnest."

The 2025 Seongnam Festival, starting with this opening performance, will continue for nine days until the 28th, featuring citizen-participatory cultural programs and a variety of attractions throughout Seongnam.
