Song Younggil, leader of the Sonamoo Party, announced on September 20 that President Lee Jaemyung sent a congratulatory message to encourage him at his book concert.
On this day, Song revealed through his social media account on Facebook that President Lee had sent a congratulatory message to the book concert he hosted the previous day.
In the message, President Lee stated, "I hope that more readers will take the time to contemplate the current challenges facing democratic societies from multiple perspectives through this book," adding, "To gain a deep understanding of a nation's politics and society, it is important to encounter diverse viewpoints and voices."
He further added, "I hope this book concert serves as a meaningful opportunity to enhance understanding of various fields such as American society, politics, diplomacy, and security, and to reflect on our own political landscape."
Song was indicted on charges of receiving illegal political funds and was sentenced to two years in prison at the first trial earlier this year. He was released in June after his bail request was granted.
