Small-Scale "Eat Market" to Be Held in Yanggu on September 28
Debut of Gangwon-Style Sustainable Tourism Model
The Gangwon Tourism Foundation (CEO Choi Sunghyun, hereinafter referred to as the Foundation) announced on September 19 that it will host the "Gangwon Vegan Again in Yanggu" program, a new regionally specialized tourism content initiative of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, on September 28 at the Yanggu Seongdangnam-myeon Catholic Church and Yongha Middle School.
"Gangwon Vegan Again" is part of the "Gangwon Vegan Life Experience Revitalization Project," which was planned to promote tourism in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province. After launching at the Hwacheon Healing Center in connection with the Hwacheon Tomato Festival in August, the program will offer a variety of activities at the Yanggu Eat Market on September 28.
The event will feature vegan cooking demonstrations by professional chefs, a vegan tasting event (Vegan Chef Convergence), a permaculture field tour focused on nature-centered sustainable agriculture, a demonstration of fresh-pressed Yanggu apples, live music performances, and a vegan talk concert.
On this day, the Foundation will co-host the resident-led "Yanggu Eat Market" with Camino Cidery, offering a comprehensive vegan tourism experience that includes ESG-friendly vegan craft workshops with local creators, sales of local agricultural specialties, and a vegan marketplace.
Registration and detailed information about participating in "Gangwon Vegan Again" are available on the official Gangwon Vegan Again website.
Choi Sunghyun, CEO of the Gangwon Tourism Foundation, stated, "In celebration of the '2025-2026 Visit Gangwon Years,' we are setting a new standard in Korean tourism by introducing the nation's first vegan tourism specialization program led by a regional tourism promotion agency. Through 'Gangwon Vegan Again,' we expect this to be a turning point for Gangwon to emerge as a global hub for sustainable K-tourism."
