A Platform for Collaboration Among Citizens, Corporations, and Academia
Citizen-Participatory Festival Held at Busan City Hall
Raising Environmental Awareness and Seeking Sustainable Solutions
SK Innovation E&S hosted a citizen-participatory eco-friendly festival under the theme of a sustainable future for Busan.
On September 19, SK Innovation E&S announced that it held the citizen-participatory festival "I'm in Busan Day" at Busan City Hall. The event brought together over 700 participants, including citizens, corporations, and academia, to raise awareness of energy and environmental issues and seek sustainable solutions.
The main program, the "Mini Eco Forum," featured keynote speeches by Professor Kim Minseok of Hanyang University and Professor Choi Kyungsik of Silla University, who presented regional energy and environmental policies as well as sustainable urban strategies. This was followed by a panel discussion with business leaders, researchers, and administrative experts, where they discussed environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management and ways to foster collaboration with the local community.
In the lobby of Busan City Hall, experience booths and exhibition zones were set up so that citizens could directly engage with eco-friendly content. Environmental problem-solving ideas proposed by university students were also on display.
Previously, at the "I'm in Busan Ideathon" held last month, the Dong-A University "eCarbon" team won the grand prize for their website carbon measurement and artificial intelligence (AI) analysis solution.
An SK Innovation E&S representative stated, "'I'm in Busan Day' serves as a platform for the sustainable connection of energy, the environment, the city, and its citizens," adding, "We will strive to promote the spread of eco-friendly urban models that coexist with the local community."
